Wavefield Decomposition of Ocean-Bottom Multicomponent Seismic Data with Composite Calibration Filters

چکیده
Downgoing/upgoing P/S-wave decomposition of ocean-bottom seismic (OBS) multicomponent data can help suppress the water-layer multiples and cross-talks between P- S-waves, therefore plays an important role in migration construction S-wave velocity models. We proposed novel composite calibration filters by introducing additional dimension to particle components, extending wave-equation-based adaptive method. also modified existing workflow jointly using primary reflections at near-to-medium offsets refractions far optimization. The scheme with yielded satisfactory results a deep-water OBS field example. Expected effects, such as enhancement attenuation multiple events, be observed decomposed upgoing wavefields. An experiment illustrated effectiveness that compensated for unexpected errors along offset dimension.

The Monterey Bay broadband ocean bottom seismic observatory
We report on the installation of a long-term buried ocean-floor broadband seismic station (MOBB) in Monterey Bay, California (U.S.A.), 40 km off-shore, at a water depth of 1000 m. The station was installed in April 2002 using a ship and ROV, in a collaborative effort between the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) and the Berkeley Seismological Laboratory (BSL). The station is loca...
متن کاملMulticomponent wavefield characterization with a novel scanning laser interferometer.
The in-plane component of the wavefield provides valuable information about media properties from seismology to nondestructive testing. A new compact scanning laser ultrasonic interferometer collects light scattered away from the angle of incidence to provide the absolute ultrasonic displacement for both the out-of-plane and an in-plane components. This new system is tested by measuring the rad...
متن کاملSpectral Decomposition of Seismic Data with Continuous Wavelet Transform
In this paper we present a new methodology for computing a time-frequency map for non-stationary signals using the continuous wavelet transform (CWT). The conventional method of producing a time-frequency map using the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) limits the time-frequency resolution by a pre-defined window length. In contrast, the CWT method does not require pre-selecting a window lengt...
متن کاملspectral decomposition of seismic data using modified deconvolutive spectrogram
spectral decomposition or time-frequency representation (tfr) is a powerful tool for analyzing time varying nature of seismic data. mapping of a one dimensional seismic time trace to a two dimensional function of time and frequency reveals some characteristics of seismic signals that are not available in only time or frequency representations. this approach has been widely used in seismic explo...
متن کاملDeghosting of Ocean Bottom Cable Data :Two approaches
Two filter based approaches for deghosting of Ocean Bottom Cable data are presented. One of them is phase shifting of geophone followed by least square matching of cross ghosted geophone and hydrophone data.In the second approach, phase shifting of geophone is followed by direct matching of geophone’s amplitude spectrum with that of the hydrophone within the seismic bandwidth. Results obtained fr...
